The Naperville Sabre Girls 10U Hockey Team and their parents will assist Santa Claus when he delivers Christmas presents to the Children of Morningstar Mission on December 22, 2016, at approximately 5:30 PM. Officer John Perri, representing the Joliet Police Department, along with City of Joliet Mayor Bob O’Dekirk and Councilwoman At Large Brooke Hernandez Brewer will also be there to help distribute the gifts.
The girls, along with their parents, wanted to do something special at Christmas for less fortunate children. Their Coach, Keith Mellen, local Joliet business owner of Omni Gear and Machine Corporation, and Joliet resident Dan Grzybowski, one of the parents, spearheaded this effort with the Sabre Girls, other coaches, and all their parents who were glad to be part of making this a very memorable Christmas for so many children during this magical time of year. Coach Mellen also donated $200 to Morning Star Mission.
The Sabre 10U girls team consists of 14 girls between the ages of 9 and 10. They are a travel hockey team playing in the NIHL League (Northern Illinois Hockey League).
